In 2020, amidst the challenges of the COVID pandemic, elections, and nationwide protests, I felt compelled to take action. Joining the Michigan House Democratic Caucus as a Digital Media Advisor, I hit the ground running. Despite limited staffing, I assumed multiple roles within the department, collaborating on social media graphics, newsletters, caucus campaigns, and video/photo content for our 56 State Representatives.
Balancing the demands of 56 “clients” on a daily basis presents its challenges, but over time, I've developed innovative methods to streamline our workflow. Through continuous refinement, I've become increasingly skilled at managing time and completing design tasks with efficiency and effectiveness.
Branding Refresh
After years of the House Democrats being in the minority, the 2022 elections marked a significant shift as we secured the majority in all three chambers. This monumental victory not only changed the future for Michigan but it also transformed our department internally. Inspired by the excitement and historic win, I spearheaded the initiative to modernize the Democratic caucus branding.

Newsletters
Email newsletters are one of the many ways our State Representatives like to connect with their constituents. The main goal when designing these templates is to keep the basic design looking fresh, clear, and informative. Allowing Representative's and their staff easy access to these templates so they can clearly and efficiently communicate with their constituents.
Photography & Video
In addition to my primary role as a designer, I also serve as a secondary photographer and videographer for the Caucus. Cultivating these skills in my personal life has long been a passion that complements my professional career well. In these capacities, I merge my design expertise with the media I capture, creating a cohesive and impactful visual narrative.
